This IIJW saw something which has not been seen and felt on a ramp in times gone by; happiness. The show by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers started with the soothing lights of midnight blues, royal purple and elegant green which gave way to the glorious sight of Amer fort. A life-sized facsimile of the Ganesh Pole gate was created in the in the center, while the beautiful arches and parkota walls of Rajasthan magically surrounded the audience.
The evening was graced by a sparkling entry of the gracious Sharmila Tagore who walked the ramp in pristine glory. The gorgeous Kangana Ranaut also sashayed the ramp along with the dashing beau, the model-turned actor, Vidyut Jammwal. But the one who stole the show was the vivacious Ila Arun.
The jovial Ila Arun set the ramp on fire when she broke into a carefree jig in her stunning gypsy attire. The ramp brightened up as she made her entry by dancing to her Rajasthani folk songs “Manne aave nahi” and “Choodi Chamke”.
The renowned Rajasthani folk singer was seen dressed in a long gypsy jacket dress with her unique chunk of jewellery. The models walked the ramp and danced in full spring while walking back to her songs.
The models were seen smiling and laughing lighting up the mood of the audience. There was a strong wave of happiness and thrill in the hall when Ila Arun danced in her carefree demeanour along with the models, all dressed and bejeweled in a tribal look.
Doing complete justice to the look and theme, was Ila Arun and her performance which was nothing less than an absolute visual delight adding a different mood to the sombre jewellery show.
