Come September, Wear Sapphire

The favorite of all, a symbol of trust and the one which brings an instant shine in the eyes and reflects the purity of soul: Sapphire. The name sapphire is believed to originate from ‘sapphirus’, the Greek word, meaning blue. The September birthstone Sapphire is considered to be the birthstone for Virgo (The sign of the Virgin) and relate to those born between August 23 and September 22.

Sapphire mainly appears as blue stones, ranging from very pale blue to deep indigo. The beautiful and lively Sapphire is one of the four most precious gemstones, the other three being, diamond, ruby and emerald. The royal jewel of sapphire used to be worn by the kings as it was believed to possess the property of wisdom while the priests used it as it symbolizes utmost faithfulness, trust, love and purity.

Blue 3

At Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers, Sapphires can be found in a myriad of colors, not just different shades of blue, these include yellow and pink too. Sapphires with colors other than blue are generally referred to as fancy sapphires. When a stone so meaningful and deep shapes in a beautiful piece of jewellery, you can do nothing but want it !! While the blue sapphire offers calm and serenity, the pink sapphire exudes loyalty and happiness. The gentle pink sapphire ranges in hue and tone from demure light peach to the hot bubble gum pink. All our collections have been embellished with varied shades of sapphires. The new collection Amer has also used the pink sapphires in a plethora of designs of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more. Sapphires are very widely used in the wedding jewellery as they are considered to be auspicious for relationships.

Come down and have a look at the Sapphire, the September birthstone, and see how it proves to be an excellent gift for your beloved.
