Bollywood Fashion Icon Sonam Kapoor walks the ramp as the showstopper for Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas in full regalia with the riveting Birdhichand’s Delhi Durbar jewellery.
Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jaipur celebrated its presence in the capital while officially unveiling ‘Delhi Durbar’ collection with an extravagant gala at the Taj Palace on Saturday, 8th September’18.
History- The Delhi Durbar was held thrice in the capital city in the years 1877, 1903 and 1911. The epoch of 1911 witnessed enthronement of George V and Queen Mary as the Emperor and Empress of India. They being the unprecedented British monarchs to visit Imperial India were welcomed with exceptional pageantry while exhibiting the kingly treasures.
Birdhichand’s Delhi Durbar revives the same spirit of grandeur and magnificence frozen in the history of Durbars in India during this show.
The scintillating venue of the magnificent Delhi Durbar was set up like a Char Bagh built in ivory colour theme with beautiful arches and domes, fountains, stately pavilions, antiques, and elaborately decorated pathways bringing back the epic saga of grandiosity.
Amidst a grand gathering of Delhi’s crème de la crème, Birdhichand welcomed its guests into the Royal Pavilions that carried an old-world charm resembling the Delhi Durbar of the ancient times. The décor, majestic and larger than life, reminded one of the grandeur of the royal times.

The evening started with Rajasthani folk-Sufi musician – Kutle Khan and the models on the ramp flaunted the exquisite jewels from Birdhichand’s latest collection Delhi Durbar depicting the flamboyant impressions of kingly life.
Bollywood’s fashion icon, ‘Sonam Kapoor’ walked the ramp flaunting the exquisite jewels from the Delhi Durbar Collection. Styled by celebrity stylist, ‘Tanya Ghavri’, the fashion show witnessed models adorning intricately carved jewellery from Delhi Durbar collection by Birdhichand and pastel-hued apparel by the label – Jayanti Reddy. The show was choreographed by Anu Ahuja.
The evening ended on an elaborate sit-down dinner along with a pleasant performance by Sitaara Band.
